School About Page
The About tab provides a structured overview of a school.
It helps you understand:
- The purpose of the school
- Who owns it
- How many members it has
- How groups are organized
- Whether the school is verified
This page is primarily informational but includes interactive elements.
School Header
Section titled “School Header”At the top of the About page, you will typically see:
- School banner image
- School logo (if available)
- School name
- Verified badge (if applicable)
The Verified badge indicates that the school’s identity has been confirmed by the platform.
Description
Section titled “Description”Below the header, you will see the school description.
The description:
- Supports Markdown formatting
- May include headings, links, lists, and emphasis
- Explains the purpose, audience, and structure of the school
This content is managed by school administrators.
Regular members cannot edit this section.
Member Count
Section titled “Member Count”The About page displays the total number of active members in the school.
Clicking the member count allows you to:
- Open the Members tab
- Browse all members
- Search by name
- Filter by role (if supported)

The number reflects currently active members and may update dynamically.
Owner Information
Section titled “Owner Information”The school owner’s name appears in the header section.
Clicking the owner’s name opens their profile page.
If the owner is viewing their own school, additional administrative options may be visible.
Ownership and administrative privileges are managed at the school level.
Categories (If Enabled)
Section titled “Categories (If Enabled)”If the school uses categories:
- Categories appear below the description.
- Each category filters the visible group list.
- Selecting a category updates the group preview section.
Categories help structure schools with many groups.
If no categories appear, the school may not use this feature.
Group Preview Section
Section titled “Group Preview Section”Below the description and categories, you may see a preview of groups.
Each group card may display:
- Group name
- Short description
- Member count (if enabled)
Clicking a group opens its content view.
Some groups may require joining before you can participate.

What You Can and Cannot Do
Section titled “What You Can and Cannot Do”As a regular member, you can:
- Read the description
- Browse categories
- View and open groups
- View members
- Open the owner’s profile
You cannot:
- Edit the description
- Change the banner or logo
- Modify categories
- Manage members
- Adjust school settings
These actions are restricted to administrators.
Context Awareness
Section titled “Context Awareness”The About page is specific to the selected school.
Your:
- Role
- Display name
- Profile image
- Permissions
May differ across schools.
Always confirm that you are inside the correct school before taking important actions.
Common Questions
Section titled “Common Questions”Why Can’t I Edit the Description?
Section titled “Why Can’t I Edit the Description?”Only school administrators can modify school details.
Why Don’t I See Categories?
Section titled “Why Don’t I See Categories?”The school may not use categories, or you may not have permission to view them.
Why Is the Member Count Different Than Expected?
Section titled “Why Is the Member Count Different Than Expected?”The count may reflect:
- Active members only
- Recently removed accounts
- Role-based visibility differences
Member counts update automatically.
