App Freezing or Lagging

If the Hischool interface becomes unresponsive, freezes, or feels slow, the issue is usually related to browser performance, device resources, or heavy real-time activity.

Follow the steps below to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Temporary interface freezes can often be resolved by refreshing the page.

Try:

  • Refreshing the page
  • Performing a hard refresh
  • Closing and reopening the browser tab

Too many open browser tabs may:

  • Increase memory usage
  • Slow down rendering performance
  • Cause interface delays

Close unused tabs and try again.

Long-running browser sessions may:

  • Accumulate memory usage
  • Slow down JavaScript execution
  • Cause interface instability

Fully close your browser and open it again.

Certain browser extensions may interfere with:

  • Script execution
  • Media rendering
  • Real-time updates

Try:

  • Opening Hischool in a private/incognito window
  • Temporarily disabling heavy extensions
  • Testing in another browser

If your device is running low on resources:

  • Close background applications
  • Restart your device
  • Free up system resources
  • Avoid running heavy applications simultaneously

Devices with limited memory may struggle with large conversations or media-heavy groups.

Large groups that contain:

  • Extensive message history
  • Many file attachments
  • Frequent real-time updates

May temporarily affect performance.

Try opening another section of the app to compare responsiveness.

Step 7: Confirm Your Browser Is Up to Date

Section titled “Step 7: Confirm Your Browser Is Up to Date”

Outdated browsers may:

  • Struggle with modern web features
  • Have compatibility issues
  • Cause freezing or lag

Update your browser to the latest version.

Unstable networks may:

  • Delay real-time updates
  • Cause temporary interface blocking
  • Interrupt data loading

Switch to a more stable connection if possible.

Possible causes:

  • Large conversation history
  • Heavy background activity
  • Low device memory
  • Browser extension interference

Likely causes:

  • High message volume
  • Large media attachments
  • Specific group configuration

This may indicate:

  • Memory accumulation
  • Long-running browser session
  • Browser resource exhaustion

Restarting the browser usually resolves this issue.
