Cannot Join a School

If you are unable to join a school, the issue may be related to invite access, account status, or temporary technical problems.

Follow the steps below to identify and resolve the issue.


Before joining a school, make sure:

  • You are logged into your Hischool account
  • You are using the correct account
  • Your session has not expired

If unsure:

  • Sign out
  • Sign back in
  • Try joining again

Step 2: Confirm the School Is Accepting Members

Section titled “Step 2: Confirm the School Is Accepting Members”

Some schools may restrict membership.

For example:

  • The school may be private
  • The school may require an invitation
  • Membership requests may require approval

If the school is private, you must receive an invite from a member or administrator.


If you are joining using an invite link:

Make sure that:

  • The invite link has not expired
  • The invite has not been revoked
  • You are signed in before opening the link
  • You are using the most recent invite link

In some cases, joining a school may require approval.

This means:

  • Your join request may be waiting for administrator approval
  • Access will be granted once the request is reviewed

If your request is pending, wait for approval or contact the school administrator.


You may not be able to join a school if your account has restrictions.

For example:

  • Your email address has not been verified
  • Your account is temporarily locked
  • Security protections are active

Step 6: Confirm You Were Not Previously Removed

If you were previously removed from the school, you may not be able to rejoin automatically.

In this case:

  • Ask the school administrator to send a new invite
  • Wait for approval if required

The invite link may no longer be valid.

Request a new invite link from the school administrator.


This may indicate:

  • The school is private
  • Membership requires approval
  • Access is restricted

Contact the school administrator.


If the school does not appear after joining:

Try the following:

  • Refresh the page
  • Sign out and sign back in
  • Confirm you are using the correct account

If the school still does not appear:

Contact the school administrator if:

  • You need an invite link
  • Your join request is pending
  • You believe you were removed by mistake
  • You cannot access the school after joining

Administrators control school membership and access.


Contact platform support if:

  • Multiple users cannot join the school
  • Invite links consistently fail
  • The join process appears broken
  • You encounter unexpected technical errors
