Remove a Friend

If you no longer wish to stay connected with a user, you can remove them from your Friends list.

Removing a friend:

  • Ends the connection
  • Updates visibility rules
  • May affect messaging permissions

In most cases, this action can be reversed by sending a new friend request.

To remove a friend:

  1. Go to Friends.
  2. Open your Friends list.
  3. Select the user you want to remove.
  4. Open the options menu.
  5. Click Remove Friend.
  6. Confirm the action.

The connection is removed immediately.

After removing a friend:

  • They no longer appear in your Friends list.
  • You are removed from their Friends list.
  • Messaging permissions may change depending on privacy settings.
  • Profile visibility may be reduced based on system rules.

Past conversations remain in your message history unless deleted separately.

In most cases:

  • The user is not notified.
  • The connection simply ends.

Yes, in most cases you can:

  1. Search for the user.
  2. Send a new friend request.

However, you may not be able to reconnect if:

  • The user blocks you.
  • The user restricts friend requests.
  • Privacy settings limit profile visibility.

See:
Add a Friend

You may consider removing a friend if:

  • You no longer collaborate.
  • The connection is no longer relevant.
  • You want to reduce profile visibility.
  • You prefer a smaller network.

If you want to prevent all interaction, consider blocking instead.

See:
Block or Unblock a User

Removing a friend:

  • Ends the connection.
  • Does not prevent future contact.
  • Does not restrict visibility beyond normal privacy rules.

Blocking a user:

  • Prevents messaging.
  • Prevents friend requests.
  • Restricts visibility in search and profile (depending on system rules).

Choose the option that best fits your situation.

You can send them a new friend request.

  • The connection may already have been removed.
  • There may be a temporary system issue.

Removing a friend does not delete conversation history.

  • Maintain meaningful connections.
  • Remove inactive or unnecessary connections.
  • Use blocking tools when stronger restrictions are needed.
  • Review your friends list periodically.
