Share a Conversation
In Hischool, you can share a conversation or a school group by copying its link and sending it to others.
Sharing allows you to:
- Direct someone to a specific conversation
- Share access to a group discussion
- Help participants quickly locate a conversation
However, sharing a link does not grant access automatically.
Only users who already have permission to access the conversation or group will be able to open it.
Sharing a Conversation or Group
Section titled “Sharing a Conversation or Group”You can share a Group Message conversation or a School Group by copying its link.
To copy the link:
- Open the conversation or group.
- Open the conversation options or context menu.
- Select Copy Link.
- Send the copied link to others.
The recipient can open the link only if they have the required permissions.
Access Control
Section titled “Access Control”Copying and sharing a link does not change access permissions.
A user can open the shared link only if they:
- Are already a member of the conversation, or
- Have permission to access the group
If the user does not have the required access, the link will not allow them to enter the conversation or group.
When Sharing is Useful
Section titled “When Sharing is Useful”Sharing a link can be helpful when:
- A conversation has many messages and it is difficult to locate a specific discussion
- You want to quickly guide someone to a specific group
- You want to reference a conversation in another discussion
Security and Privacy
Section titled “Security and Privacy”Before sharing a conversation link:
- Make sure the recipient has the appropriate access.
- Avoid sharing links to private discussions with unauthorized users.
- Follow school and organization communication policies.
Restrictions
Section titled “Restrictions”You may not be able to access a shared link if:
- You are not a member of the conversation
- You are not a member of the school
- The group or conversation is restricted
In these cases, the link will not open the conversation.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Share links only with relevant participants.
- Confirm the recipient has access before sharing.
- Use links to help others quickly navigate long conversations.
