Leave a Group

You can leave a group if you no longer want to participate in that conversation.

Leaving a group removes you from the group and stops future messages from appearing in your conversation list.

This action is available only in:

  • Group Messages
  • Private Groups inside a school

You cannot use this action in Direct Messages (DM).

To leave a group:

  1. Open the group conversation.
  2. Open the conversation options menu.
  3. Select Leave Group.
  4. Confirm the action.

After confirmation, you will immediately leave the group.

When you leave a group:

  • You are removed from the group member list.
  • You will no longer receive new messages from that group.
  • The group conversation may disappear from your message list.
  • You cannot send messages to the group anymore.

When a member leaves a group, Hischool automatically sends a system message in the conversation.

The message appears similar to:

@user left the group

This helps other participants know that the member has exited the group.

If you are the group owner and you leave the group:

  • Ownership of the group is automatically transferred to another member.
  • The next available member in the group becomes the new owner.

This ensures the group continues to function without interruption.

After leaving a group, you cannot rejoin automatically.

You can rejoin only if:

  • Someone adds you again, or
  • You receive an invitation to the group.
