Banned Users
Banning is a serious moderation action.
When a member is banned:
- They are removed from the school.
- They cannot rejoin the school.
- They lose access to all groups and school content.
- Their account appears in the Bans list.
Banning actions should follow your school policies.

When to Ban a Member
Section titled “When to Ban a Member”A ban may be appropriate if a member:
- Repeatedly violates school rules.
- Engages in harassment or harmful behavior.
- Disrupts collaboration or learning activities.
- Ignores prior warnings.
- Attempts to undermine school governance.
For minor violations, consider warnings or temporary removal first.
How to Ban a Member
Section titled “How to Ban a Member”To ban a member:
- Open the member profile inside the school.
- Select Ban Member.
- Confirm the action.
The ban takes effect immediately.
The member is removed from the school and added to the Bans list.

Accessing the Bans List
Section titled “Accessing the Bans List”To manage banned members:
- Open your school.
- Go to School Settings.
- Open the Bans section.
The list displays information such as:
- Member name
- Username
- Date banned
- (Optional) Reason for ban
Only members with appropriate permissions can access this list.
Removing a Ban
Section titled “Removing a Ban”Bans do not expire automatically.
To remove a ban:
- Open the Bans list.
- Select the banned member.
- Choose Remove Ban.
- Confirm the action.
After a ban is removed:
- The user may join the school again.
- Rejoining depends on the school’s join or invitation settings.

Important Behavior Notes

- Duration cannot be configured.
- Removal requires manual action by an authorized role.
Banned Users Cannot Rejoin
Section titled “Banned Users Cannot Rejoin”While banned, the user cannot rejoin through:
- Invite links
- Invite codes
- Discoverable school access
Access remains blocked until the ban is removed.
Governance Best Practices

- Document serious violations.
- Avoid impulsive bans.
- Ensure consistent enforcement.
- Review bans periodically.
- Allow reconsideration when appropriate.
