Profile Settings

You can manage your profile settings from the Settings → Profile section.

The profile settings page contains two tabs:

  • Main Profile
  • School Profiles

These tabs allow you to manage your global profile information and school-specific profile settings.

The Main Profile is your global profile across the entire Hischool platform.

Information configured here is visible by default in all schools and areas of the platform unless a school-specific profile overrides it.

You can update the following information:

  • Banner Image
  • User Avatar
  • Display Name
  • Bio

The banner image appears at the top of your profile.

Requirements:

  • Maximum file size: 6.00 MB

The avatar is your profile picture used across the platform.

Requirements:

  • Maximum file size: 2.50 MB

Your Display Name is the name other users see when interacting with you across the platform.

You can update it at any time.

The Bio field allows you to describe yourself.

The bio supports Markdown formatting, allowing you to include:

  • formatted text
  • links
  • lists
  • code snippets

See:
Format Messages Using Markdown

The School Profiles tab allows you to customize your profile per school.

This is useful when you want to use different names or profile images in different schools.

The page includes:

  • A search field
  • A list of schools you have joined

Use the search field to quickly find a school where you want to modify your profile.

Once you select a school:

  • A profile edit modal will appear.

Inside the modal, you can change:

  • Your name in that school
  • Your profile image for that school

These changes apply only within that specific school.

If you customize your profile for a school:

  • The school-specific profile will be shown in that school.

If you do not customize it:

  • The system will use your Main Profile information instead.

This ensures your profile always has visible information across the platform.

  • Use a clear display name so other members can recognize you easily.
  • Keep your banner and avatar images appropriate for school environments.
  • Update your school profiles when participating in different communities or roles.
