Account Security

Protecting your account is important. Hischool provides several security features to help keep your account safe.

You can manage your account security settings in:

Settings → My Account

Security features include:

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Recovery Codes
  • Authenticator App
  • Session Management

For security reasons, certain sensitive actions require password confirmation.

When performing these actions, a password confirmation dialog will appear.
You must enter your account password to continue.

If the password is correct, the requested action will proceed.

This additional verification helps protect your account from unauthorized changes.

Two-Factor Authentication adds an additional layer of protection to your account.

With 2FA enabled:

  1. You enter your password
  2. You then enter a one-time code generated by an Authenticator App

This ensures that even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without your verification device.

Recovery Codes allow you to access your account if you lose access to your Authenticator App.

In the Two-Factor Authentication section, you may see the following options:

  • Generate Recovery Codes – creates a new set of recovery codes
  • View Recovery Codes – displays your existing recovery codes
  • Reset Recovery Codes – invalidates the old codes and generates new ones

⚠️ When recovery codes are reset, previous codes will no longer work.

You should store these codes in a safe and secure location.

You can secure your account using an Authenticator App that generates one-time login codes.

Supported apps include:

  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Authy
  • Other compatible authenticator apps

To enable an Authenticator App:

  1. Click Enable Authenticator
  2. A QR code will appear
  3. Open your authenticator app
  4. Scan the QR code
  5. Enter the generated verification code

Once configured, your account will require a one-time authentication code during login.

The Sessions section shows all devices currently logged into your account.

This helps you monitor where your account is being accessed.

Each session displays information such as:

  • Device type
  • Browser
  • Login time
  • Activity information (when available)

At the top of the Sessions section you will see:

  • Current Session
  • Sign Out of All Other Sessions

The Current Session represents the device you are currently using.

You can rename the session using:

Rename

This can help you identify your devices more easily.

Example names:

  • Work Laptop
  • Personal Phone
  • Home Desktop

Sign Out of All Other Sessions will:

  • Keep your current session active
  • Log out all other devices connected to your account

This is useful if:

  • You logged in on another device and forgot to sign out
  • You suspect unauthorized access
  • You want to secure your account quickly

Below the current session, you will see all other active sessions.

For each session you can:

  • Rename – change the session name
  • Sign Out – log out that device immediately

This allows you to control exactly which devices remain connected to your account.

To keep your account secure:

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication
  • Store Recovery Codes in a safe place
  • Regularly review your active sessions
  • Sign out from devices you no longer use
  • Never share your password with others
